We are looking for people to join us in actively working, over the next few years, towards the creation of a Cohousing Neighbourhood in Bridport. We have got off to a fantastic start, but are keen for more people to join us.
The qualities we are looking for:
Commitment Time
Getting on together Attending meetings
Joining a working group Confidentiality
There is also a small membership fee.
We would like potential new active members to find out something about cohousing and be interested in living in a cohousing neighbourhood – in a self-contained unit with a shared common house. We hold regular information meetings about cohousing (see Events page).

Residents steering group:
This group has been meeting monthly since January 2006. It consists mainly of potential residents, plus a couple of professionals supportive of the project. The Steering Group will help set the framework for the cohousing community, will lead the process of recruiting residents, and will work with partners in the design, local consultation and implementation of the cohousing facilities. Criteria for membership of the Steering Group include:
- Sharing the established aims and values of the project
- Willing to make a significant unpaid time commitment (at least two days per month)
- Relevant personal and/or professional skills
